When Ibiza was called Yabisa

To discover what Muslim Ibiza was like between the 7th and 13th centuries—known as Madina Yabisa—you need to climb to the top of Dalt Vila and visit this visitor centre, located on the ground floor of the Casa de la Curia building, which served as the seat of the island’s judicial administration in medieval times. Through an audiovisual model and other exhibits, you can visualise what the ancient Arab fortification looked like, which sections or towers survived the successive renovations, how far the suburbs extended, and other curiosities of Muslim Ibiza. After your visit, you’ll surely be able to spot the traces left behind by the vanished Madina Yabisa on your walks.
