Sant Vicent de Sa Cala

Small village near Cala de Sant Vicent.
Its church is a simple and charming building of small dimensions, with a single nave and six side chapels.

The beach of Cala Sant Vicent is very wide, containing a large expanse of sand of fine grain and clear blue and turquoise coloured water. To one side there is a row of boathouses where the fishermen of the area keep their boats. There is a promenade that runs along the beach throughout the service area, where visitors will find restaurants, bars, shops of souvenirs and gifts, as well as the two major hotels. The access to the beach has public parking areas at both ends.

Before reaching the beach, at a distance of about 1.2 km, there is a signposted turnoff to the cave.

The cave is an important ancient Phoenician-Punic sanctuary dedicated to the Phoenician god Melkart and the Carthaginian goddess Tanit. It was used as a sanctuary from the late fifth century to the second century BC, as the hundreds of votive figures of the goddess Tanit and other objects found in the cave confirm.
