Ca N’Andreu Des Trull
A typical house overlooking Sant Carles and the valley
In Sant Carles, on the way to the beaches and villages of northern Ibiza, a unique invitation awaits you: to step inside a traditional farmhouse, first recorded in 1730 and designated a Site of Cultural Interest. Inside, where an exhibition of furniture, objects and clothing is on display, you’ll discover the traditional layout of a farmhouse, with the ‘porxo’ – the central space leading to the rest of the rooms – the kitchen, the ‘trull’ or oil mill, the ‘cases de jeure’ or bedrooms, and the larder.
Outside, as well as the farmyards, the threshing floor, the cistern, a waterwheel, a lime kiln and a coal store, you can also see how the modular construction typical of Ibizan architecture gives each house a unique design. A good idea is to combine your visit with the Ibizan folklore performances held regularly.
A suggestion? Before or after your visit, why not take a dip at Cala Llenya, Cala Boix or Cala Mastella?
