An oasis of peace amidst the hustle and bustle of the Ensanche
In the 1950s, the city of Ibiza saw the emergence of a new neighbourhood, known as the Ensanche. This church was built in just six years to provide pastoral care for the new residents, funded in part by public donations.
It is therefore a modern-style church, with an eclectic façade that bears no resemblance to traditional Ibizan churches, and a simple interior that does, however, retain the typical structure of Ibizan churches: a single nave with a barrel vault. If you pass by it whilst out shopping in Ibiza or on your way to the historic centre, do pop in and enjoy the peace and coolness.
A tip: from here, you can take Calle Bisbe Huix and reach the Puig des Molins Museum and Necropolis in just a three-minute walk.
