Church of San Agustín

A church overlooking rural Ibiza

On your way to the beaches along Ibiza’s west coast, take a short detour from your route and visit the small village of Sant Agustí to see the picturesque sight offered by its simple church. Built in the late 18th century, it retains the fortress-like character typical of Ibizan churches and consists of a single nave with a semicircular vault and six side chapels.

Notable features include its north-facing orientation, the presence of buttresses on one side and the absence of the usual external portico, the ‘porxo’, which sets it apart from the island’s other churches.
