Cala Xarraca
This beach is located at 27 km away from Eivissa and at 5 km from Sant Joan between Punta de sa Torre and Punta Xarraca; all together form the margins of the bay inlet to Cala Xarraca. Access by car is recommended due to hard slopes to reach it. To get there we should take the road that links Eivissa with Portinatx and on the Km 17 we should take the well-indicated turnoff towards Cala Xarraca. It consists of three beaches, two of them quite smaller. The biggest beach has about 90 metres long by 20 metres wide with coarse-grained toasted sand among the rocks. There are several cliffs that wrap the cove, crowned with pines and scrubland, residential and touristic buildings, crystal clear water and excellent landscape. Once we are in the water we need to be careful with the slope since a few metres away from the shore it is quite depth. The underwater seascape is quite good due to the huge amount of wildlife that inhabits among the big fallen rocks of the ground. The marine and underwater conditions make the boats anchoring not desirable, it is recommended to do it in the nearby Illot de sa Mesquida, with depths ranging from six to eight metres over a seaweed of algae, rocks and sand.
