Short routes and easy walks for all audiences

Short routes and easy walks for all audiences

You don't have to be a great hiker to enjoy Ibiza on foot.

The island is full of short routes, accessible walks and routes that allow you to discover landscapes, history and nature without great physical demands.

Today we propose five plans, one per municipality, designed to walk without haste, breathe fresh air and remember that, in the end, the important thing is not to arrive... but to enjoy the journey.

Es Broll de Buscastell – Sant Antoni

ruta ibiza es broll

With just 2.5 km of route and a very low difficulty (IBP 18), this hiking route in Ibiza is perfect for almost anyone. The dirt road, in good condition and with little traffic, runs along the course of the Buscastell torrent to its source, where the water gushes out permanently.

During the walk, the landscape becomes a succession of orchards, ditches, pools and fruit trees that show the enormous fertility of the valley. In spring, when the flora is in full bloom and the water flows more strongly, the environment becomes especially beautiful.

One of the highlights is Es Broll, an artesian well of Arab origin that distributes water through a traditional irrigation system that is still in force today. Nearby is the restored Molí d'en Tià, an old hydraulic mill that took advantage of the force of water.

A simple, quiet and perfect route to reconnect with the most rural Ibiza!

Santa Gertrudis, between reeds and fields – Santa Eulària

ruta ibiza santa gertrudis

This 5.9 km circular route of low difficulty  is ideal for families and those looking for a relaxed walk through the green heart of the island.

Start in the charming village of Santa Gertrudis, one of the coziest inland.

From there, the path follows the course of an old riverbed, easily recognizable by the vegetation of reeds that accompanies it. The tour continues between crop fields and soft wooded areas where the silence is only broken by the singing of birds.

The walk ends again at the church of Santa Gertrudis, built in the eighteenth century, returning us to the center of the town.

The perfect reward is to sit on one of its terraces for a quiet snack, savouring local specialities while the life of the village goes by unhurriedly around you.

Benirràs Route – PR-EI-105 – Sant Joan

ruta ibiza benirras

At 13 km and about 4 hours long, this route is longer, but that doesn't mean you have to complete it entirely. It can be adapted according to the pace or simply enjoy a section. Here the important thing is to walk and live the experience!

The itinerary of the Benirràs route begins in Port de Sant Miquel and heads towards the Cova de Can Marçà, the only visitable karst cave in Ibiza, famous for its limestone formations and its stories of smugglers. From there, the path continues to Cala Benirràs, offering panoramic views of the coastline and the islet of Es Cap Bernat.

After a break – and perhaps a dip – the trail returns through wooded mountain areas to the starting point.

A complete route that combines sea, history and nature in the north of the island.

Ses Portes – Sant Josep Route

ruta ibiza ruta de ses portes

This route allows you to travel along the seafront of the Ses Salines Natural Park, bordering the beaches of Ses Salines and Es Cavallet. You can start at either end and adapt the route according to the time and desire.

The promenade of the Ses Portes route combines wooded paths, paths next to the salt ponds and coastal sections. On the way there are vestiges of the salt industry: the town of Sa Canal, old loading docks, rails and historic industrial buildings. You can also discover the Pou des Carbó, dating from 1765.

One of the most emblematic points is the tower of Ses Portes, built in the seventeenth century to guard the maritime passage between Ibiza and Formentera.

From there, the views over the sea and the posidonia meadows, declared a World Heritage Site, will take your breath away!

Dalt Vila – Eivissa

ruta ibiza dalt vila

Walking through Dalt Vila is walking through centuries of history!

The Renaissance citadel, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, preserves intact the walls erected by order of Philip II in the sixteenth century.

The tour of the walled enclosure allows you to imagine the lookouts attentive to the horizon searching for pirates. Information panels explain curiosities about the construction and defensive methods of the time. In the bastions of Sant Pere and Sant Jaume, it is even possible to see historical re-enactments on specific dates.

The route does not have a fixed distance: you can get lost in its cobbled streets, stop at viewpoints or simply sit and contemplate the port, letting yourself be carried away by the tranquil atmosphere that is breathed between squares, courtyards and historic facades.

And if you coincide with a dramatized visit at sunset, the experience becomes even more special.
