A glimpse into traditional rural Ibiza
The church of Santa Inés, a couple of restaurants and a shop make up this charming little village, a typical example of a rural Ibizan parish where the inhabitants used to live scattered across the surrounding countryside. The surrounding valley, known as the Pla de Corona, stands out for its authenticity and charm, particularly between January and February, when the almond trees growing there are in bloom. If you’d like to discover what Ibiza was like until the mid-20th century, be sure to include Santa Agnès in your itinerary around the island.
What to see in Santa Agnès de Corona?
It would be a shame not to visit this enclave in the interior of the municipality of Sant Antoni de Portmany, as, in addition to the church of Santa Inés, you can also see interesting examples of traditional rural architecture, a beautiful panoramic view of the islets of Ses Margalides and the Sa Penya Esbarrada archaeological site, with the remains of an ancient Arab dwelling.
A suggestion? If you enjoy hiking, leave your car behind and walk around the Pla de Corona on a route of around 11 km.
