Ibiza’s most remote church
Sitting on the bench in the portico and hearing nothing but the birdsong is possible in this church perched atop a hill – one of the island’s most humble and, without a doubt, the most secluded of them all. If you want to explore the most remote rural parts of Ibiza, when travelling to or from Cala Sant Vicent, take a detour from your route and, after just a few metres, you’ll have reached it.
Built in the 19th century to serve the parishioners of the north-eastern part of the island, the church of San Vicente Ferrer has a single nave with a barrel vault and six chapels. Its portico is situated to the left of the façade and provides access to a parish hall. To see it on its feast day, visit on 5 April, the feast of Saint Vincent.
