Archaeological Museum of Ibiza and Formentera: Guided tours in July

Continuing with activities to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Declaration of "Eivissa, Biodiversity and Culture" as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Archaeological Museum of Eivissa and Formentera has scheduled a series of guided tours at the Puig des Molins Monographic Museum and necropolis during the month of July. The tours are titled "Journey to the Afterlife: Gods, Rites, and Tombs at the Puig des Molins Necropolis. Commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of Eivissa World Heritage".

The tours will take place from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm and will be conducted in Spanish/Catalan on Tuesdays (2, 9, 16, 23, 30 / 07) and Saturdays (6, 13, 20, 27 / 07), as well as in English on Thursdays (11, 18, 25 / 07). The activity will be free with a reservation by calling 971176090 or contacting This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. You can also go directly to the Puig des Molins Monographic Museum and join the activity until capacity is reached (max. 25 people).

This cycle of guided tours aims to enrich the MAEF's activity offerings designed to commemorate the 25th anniversary milestone, alongside other successful formats such as the Mediterranean Triad, held a few weeks ago, or the Phoenician-Punic Archaeology Days, which will take place next November. Also noteworthy is the new temporary exhibition "Eivissa, Empúries, Ensérune, the possible journey. A virtual experience", which will remain open to the public at the Puig des Molins Monographic Museum until the end of September. This simultaneous exhibition at the three venues (MAEF, MAC-Empúries, and Musée d’Ensérune), featuring Virtual Reality content, proposes a different route to learn about these three archaeological sites linked by a common past: cultural exchanges in antiquity.

Continuing with the commemorative events, the MAEF and the Eivissa City Council will offer the 25th Anniversary Eivissa World Heritage concert on August 16 in an idyllic setting such as the Puig des Molins necropolis. Later in the calendar, on Saturday, October 26, there will be a special guided tour of the Puig des Molins necropolis where participants can access the most unknown corners of the site and recall over 120 years of archaeological excavations.
